USGIF Now Accepting Proposals for GEOINT 2019 Lightning Talks

Lightning Talks are an opportunity to collaborate and educate colleagues on topics relevant to the GEOINT 2019 theme: “Human-Machine Teaming & Innovation Yield Mission Success.” Lightning Talks are 7 minutes in length and visuals and graphics are strongly encouraged. The talks will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. June 3 and 4. Lightning Talks must focus on GEOINT applications performed by scientists, academics, analysts, or other community professionals.

USGIF Organizational Members, Individual Members, and Academic Partners/Accredited School representatives are invited to submit Lightning Talk proposals. Submissions imply a commitment to attend the GEOINT Symposium if selected. Marketing pitches are not acceptable and will be disregarded during the proposal review process.

All submissions must be emailed to ets@usgif.org no later than 5 p.m. EST Feb. 22.

GEOINT 2019 Theme Announced

USGIF recently announced the theme for its GEOINT 2019 Symposium: “Human-Machine Teaming & Innovation Yield Mission Success.”

GEOINT 2019 will feature four days jam-packed with opportunities to learn, network, and discover the latest in cutting-edge geospatial technologies.

“This year’s Symposium theme embraces the ongoing artificial intelligence revolution and the incredible potential when machine learning is applied as a tool to assist human decision-making,” said Ronda Schrenk, USGIF’s vice president of programs. “Geospatial innovation is occurring at an unprecedented rate across government, academia, and industry—with more and more commercial applications being developed worldwide. The convergence of these factors all contribute to heightened mission success in the defense, intelligence, and homeland security communities.”

USGIF 2019 Awards Program Now Open

Receive recognition for achievements in the GEOINT Community by applying for the 2019 Awards Program. Individuals, teams, and organizations making great achievements in GEOINT or related fields are invited to apply. The awards program annually recognizes the exceptional work of the brightest minds and innovative organizations in the global multi-faceted GEOINT Community.

Award categories include academic, community support, government, industry, and military.
